Terms of Service

Effective July 7, 2026 · OpeningDrill (openingdrill.com), operated by Awaken Your, LLC

These terms are a plain-English agreement between you and Awaken Your, LLC, the operator of OpeningDrill (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using openingdrill.com you agree to them. The short version: be reasonable, your repertoire is yours, and you can cancel or leave with your data at any time.

1. The service

OpeningDrill is a chess opening trainer: you record opening lines, drill them, analyze them with an engine, and import your games from chess.com and lichess to find gaps in your preparation. We aim for high availability but the service is provided “as is” without uptime guarantees.

2. Your account

You need an account to use the app. Keep your password secure — you are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old. One person per account; don't share or resell access.

3. Free plan and Pro subscription

The free plan includes a limited number of openings, lines, moves per line, and game reviews per month; current limits are shown on the pricing page and may change with notice. Pro removes those limits and is billed through Stripe as a monthly or yearly subscription that renews automatically until cancelled.

You can cancel anytime from the billing portal; you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for. If a price ever changes, we will tell you in advance and the change applies from your next renewal — and pricing promised to founding users stays honored.

Charges appear on card statements as AWAKEN YOUR LLC— that's our legal name, not a mystery charge.

4. Refunds

If you're unhappy with a Pro purchase, email us within 30 days of being charged and we'll refund it — no questions asked.

5. Your content

The openings, lines, and notes you create are yours. You grant us only the license needed to store and process them so the service works. You can export your entire repertoire as PGN at any time, free or paid — we never hold your data hostage.

6. Acceptable use

Don't abuse the service: no attempting to breach security or other users' data, no automated scraping or bulk account creation, no using the service to violate chess.com's or lichess's terms, and no reselling access.

7. Disclaimers and liability

Engine evaluations and training feedback are informational — we make no promises about your chess results. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

8. Termination

You can delete your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms, with a refund of any unused paid period unless the violation was serious.

9. Changes and contact

If we make material changes to these terms we'll announce them on the site or by email before they take effect. Questions: bob@openingdrill.com. See also our Privacy Policy.
